During Covid, Falkirk showed extraordinary community spirit—but we also saw clear gaps. Support was often reactive, coordination between services was inconsistent, and too many vulnerable people were left without timely help.
I will champion a Falkirk Community Resilience Pilot, establishing a network of locally based hubs rooted in trusted community organisations—including community centres, voluntary groups, and faith organisations—working in partnership with the council and NHS.
These hubs will be properly supported, trained, and connected, ensuring that in times of crisis—whether public health, extreme weather, or economic shocks—no one is left behind.
Falkirk can lead the way in developing a model of resilience that is measured, refined, and rolled out across Scotland—because resilience is not improvised in a crisis, it is built in advance.
